Welcome to the Kenbridge Fire Department website. Whether this is your first visit or if you are a regular visitor we welcome you. The Kenbridge Fire Department is made up of over fifty-five regular all volunteer firefighters who have joined together for the purpose of providing fire and rescue services to the people in Kenbridge, Lunenburg County, as well as parts of Brunswick and Mecklenburg County. The fire department was organized in 1908 and has been in continuous operation since that time and I am proud to say that we have never missed a call in over 110 years.
If you are interested in becoming a member and you are serious about dedicating part of your time to the Kenbridge Fire Department then I would welcome your application. We are a brotherhood of men and women and we will expect a lot out of you however I believe that the friendships and good times far out way the hard work and dangers. We also accept junior member applications providing you are maintaining a “C” average in school and you are between the ages of 16 to 18 years old.
We provide training for our firefighters and we encourage all of our members to be actively involved in training no matter how long you have been in the department or if you have just joined. In order for us to be able to continue to provide first class fire protection to our citizens we must be well trained. We also must have dependable equipment that is well equipped in order for us to do our job. We presently have seven pieces of apparatus that are equipped according to the National Fire Protective Association and beyond.
We operate off of funds received from the Town of Kenbridge and the County of Lunenburg, through state grants, and through generous donations that we receive from our many supportive citizens, businesses and industries in our area. I appreciate you visiting this page and if you have questions please let me know. Thank you very much.
